Publix Trip Details

Okay, since so many people ask about a breakdown of the Publix trip, I grabbed my receipt and typed everything for you. Also, I’ve had a few people that wanted me to explain my shopping trip so here goes:

I always check out the upcoming sales on Mondays. If I see something that I want to buy then I order coupons (ebay, clipping websites, etc), print them or gather them from my binder. (Also, if I need to purchase a large number of one product then I call Publix and have them special order the products. Only do this though for quantities larger than 25) Once that is complete, I make a list of everything that I will be purchasing, how much of each item I want to buy and then I list out the coupons. (It looks very similar to the breakdown below). This helps me because I know how much I should be paying for my groceries and so that I don’t get up being surprised with a $100 bill.

Then I head to the store!! I grab my buggy and start with the produce section and work my way to the freezer section at the opposite side of the store. Once I get my item, I then locate the coupons needed and put them in a separate file in my purse. (This helps me so that I don’t have to go through all the coupons when I’m checking out) Once my buggy is full, I head to the cashier and start checking out. Once all items are scanned I then hand over my coupons!! I usually kindly point out to people behind me that it may me a few minutes if I’m using a ton of coupons. Usually everyone is very nice and most even like to stay in line behind me to see how much a save.

Publix Trip Details!

Okay, so before you take a look at all the stuff, please remember that I don't shop like this every week. This trip was very EXTREME and most of my trips look nothing like this. I just wanted to show you all how much you could get and how much you can save. ( My weekly trips usually involve smaller quantities and fewer coupons) Everything that I bought, my family will use and we are also going to give most of it away. (If you know of a local family who is struggling and would love to have some groceries, please email me and I can take them some stuff or will be glad to meet you somewhere) Always remember that if you can get items FREE or even better if you can be paid to buy the items then grab them and donate to those in need. My family feels like God has blessed us so much and we love that he is my couponing classes and even shopping trips to bless others as well. He has given us so much and we are forever grateful!

Okay, so on to the trip!

Here are the items I purchased:
2 Bags of Shredded Cheese (Not Pictured)
2 1/2 Gallons of Almond Milk
6 Boxes of Cheese It's
5 Boxes of Pepperidge Baked Snacks
10 Jars of Pasta Sauce (Raincheck)
25 Boxes of Pasta
89 Bags of Yellow Rice
86 Bottles of Propel Water
4 Boxes of Yogurt
1 Bag of Potatoes
1 Carton of Strawberries
1 Bunch of Bananas
3 Packages of Chicken
1 Package of Hamburger Meat
4 Bottles of Sundown Vitamins
4 Containers of Butter
4 Containers of Cooking Creams
4 Cream Cheese Mini Packs
100 Mentos Candy
4 Packages of Hotdogs
1 Bottle of Ketchup
1 Package of Chicken Tenders
1 Box of Spinach
1 Bottles of Apple Juice
2 Containers of Lysol Wipes
3 Packages of Peanut Butter Crackers

Order Total = -17.56
Tax = $18.79
Grand Total = $1.23
Saved $534.31!!

When I was checking out I actually had to run back and grab 3 more items to make my amount go into the positive. The great thing I love about it, is that we needed milk which usually runs for around $3.00. We ended up getting all the above products for less than that amount and we even grabbed 2 cartons of milk!!

Hillcrest Publix

I've had a few emails over the past few days about people having problems using coupons at the Publix in Hillcrest. They did change the policy a few weeks ago, but it now seems that they are enforcing even more changes. I know it has got to be frustrating, but keep in mind that they do have the right to change their policy at any time. I would suggest contacting the corporate office and letting them know about this problem. Also, the Publix is Northport is great!!!! If you shop at that store, let them know that you appreciate the coupon policy and that thats the reason you shop there. It wouldnt even hurt if you wanted to call corporate and let them know how great the store in Northport is. In the mean time I will try to get the current policy at the one in Hillcrest. Let us know what you all think about this problem.

Rock Bottom Prices for Meats & Produce

I have so many people ask me what is considered a good price for meats and vegetables. My biggest tip is to buy meats when they are on sale!! When steaks are on sale, then you need to stock up on them and just put them in your freezer. Do this for all of your meats (chicken, pork chops, hamburger meat, etc).

Also, I've found that Winn Dixie usually has better prices on meats than Publix. Here are some good buys this week at Winn Dixie:

Baby Back Ribs, $3.99 lb
Ground Beef, $1.99 lb
Bone-In Ribeye or T-bone Steaks, $5.99 lb
**Be sure to check out Winn Dixie's Meal Deal this week!!

Here are some good deals at Publix this week:

Pork Spareribs $1.79 lb.

Also here are a few websites that give you a good rock bottom price for different meats, vegetables and fruits.

Be sure to let us know if you come across a good meat or produce deal!
